TANK TREATMENTS

Nautipaints specialises in tank cleaning and painting. We can service and restore fresh, grey and black water tanks as well as fuel tanks.

 

CLEANING PROCESS

 

Prepare access to the area.

 

• Fit 24volt lighting system (Ip67), extraction and ventilation systems.

• Assemble working equipment and breathing apparatus.

• Measure toxicity levels in the tank.

• Clean with highly pressurised water and carryout the degreasing process.

• Manually dry the total surface area.

• Prepare grinding tools and grind the total surface area.

• Thoroughly vacuum and remove all dust.

• Clean total surface area with alcohol.

• Prepare the painting equipment.

• Paint according to technical specifications.

• Clean area and remove all machinery.

 

Note: All waste products are removed and then transported to the appropriate waste management point. Once the waste has been deposited we are able to supply a Certificate of Waste Management.

 

PAINTING

 

We work with four major brands of paints, Awlgrip, Alexeal, Jotun and Dupont, and therefore use four slightly different systems. The foundation for all four systems is to grind the corroded areas, as necessary. We will then sand and prime, partially or fully according to the condition of the tanks. Finally we apply a top coat suitable for the type of content in the tanks.
