Should I Consign or sell my clothes for cash?

 

Fringe offers the option of consignment or “cash for clothes”. Items can be placed on consignment and the consignor will receive 40% of the selling price and 50% of the selling price if the item is over $100.

We only offer cash for items purchased within the last year.

The items must be in excellent condition or new with tags. Fringe will offer 30-40% of the resale price. We always encourage those interested in selling or consigning to drop by our store to see what type of items we accept before gathering your items to bring in.

 

When can I bring items in?

 

Anytime! Both our Downtown and Auburn locations are open Monday- Saturday 10:00 am -7:00 pm.

 

What items will you accept?

 

We are looking for current, name brand and designer shoes, clothing, handbags, and jewelry. We only take items purchased within the past 3 years.

 

Why were my items not accepted?

 

We accept items based on our customers preferences and from carefully analyzing how well certain brands and styles sell. Please do not take offense if your items were not accepted by our staff, all of which are carefully trained to accept based on how well items sell. It would not be of any benefit to our sellers, consignors, or ourselves to accept items which are unlikely to sell to our customers. The reasons that a brand or style may or may not sell depends upon age of the item, how sought after a brand is, as well as other factors which include how often it was washed, if there are ANY spots, marks, etc.

 

How will I know when my items have sold?

 

It is the consignor’s responsibility to contact us regarding account balances or sold items.You may also call or stop by any time and we will tell you how much money is on your account. You may pick up any money on your account at any time or you may use it as store credit.

 

What happens if my items do not sell?

 

If something doesn’t sell and you would like to pick it up after the 9 weeks is up please allow us 24 hour notice so we can pull your items for you. Items that aren’t picked up will be donated.

 

Who sets the price?

 

We do, at Fringe we are aware of what is currently popular with our customers. We know the marketplace – what is in high demand, and what is not. With our expertise we are able to price your garments fairly and still offer good value to our customers.

 

Is there any limit on how many items I may consign?

 

No, but if you are a new consignor we require you to have at least 10 acceptable items before starting an account. Once an account has been established you may drop off as many items as you would like.

 

Do you allow returns?

 

No, but you can exchange within two business days for store credit.

 

Do you have layaway?

 

Yes, the total amount must be at least $30. You will put down a 30% deposit and the layaway must be picked up within 30 days. Layaway is only available at our downtown location.

Our better selling womens brands are Chicos, Coldwater Creek, Ann Taylor Loft, Talbots, Coach, Carlisle, White House Black Market, and many others. Check out our list of brands we do not take for a partial listing of brands which are not good sellers..
